Who is Alex Laybourne?
This is often a rather baffling question.
Born and raised in the coastal English town Lowestoft, it should come as no surprise (to those that have the misfortune of knowing this place) that I became a horror writer.
From an early age I was sent to schools which were at least 30 minutes drive away and so spent the most of my free time alone, as the friends I did have lived too far away for me to be able to hang out with them in the weekends or holidays.
I have been a writer as long as I can remember and have always had a vivid imagination. To this very day I find it all too easy to just drift away into my own mind and explore the world I create, where the conditions always seem to be just perfect for the cultivation of ideas, plots, scenes, characters and lines of dialogue everything basically, and when the time is right, I can simply pluck them from the allotment of my mind serve them up on the pages of whatever work is to be their home.
I am married and have four children and my biggest dream for them is that they grow up and spend their lives doing what makes them happy, whatever that is.
I have several books avaialble for sale on Amazon and if you are interested you can read samples of them all on this site, or jump to any one of the links below and grab your copy today.

Wow! Great to find someone else who has had experience with Create Space. I published my first book with another self-publishing company (horrid experience!), but am using Create Space for my second book. I am expecting my proof copy in the mail on Wednesday. Good to hear that you had such a good experience that you’re plannning to use them again.

Hi Alex,
I must say I’m very impressed with your dedication to the blog, and your posts are always entertaining and very relevant. As a new mother and recently ‘outed’ writer I find it hard to keep my own site updated, but yours is giving me inspiration to get it sorted!
Thanks a lot. It makes my day (birthday in fact) to hear you say that. It is tough at times, especially with the three kids (going from 2 to 3 was a big step) but I get up early and write at work (only during luch of course
) and somehow it gets done.
This is an uber cool site with some very good topics covered. I liked your style of writing. Thank you for sharing your service providers,I have recently found that this writing bug has not spared me and hope to use them soon.
Thanks for finding me and taking the time to comment. You are too kind with your praise. I hope you can find some useful information between my ramblings.
Hey, just stopping in to let you know I’ve passed a pretty little Kreativ Blogger award to you. Do with it as you will and enjoy. Keep up the great work.
Hi, I a sorry for not responding sooner, it appears that some comments on this page of the sit were not always emailed to me when they came in. Or they were and I totally forgot. *Shame* thank you so much for the award, I am speechless. I will definitely be planning a post about this in the coming days. I just feel bad about not mentioning it before.
